I recently replaced my torque converter and shortly after I go the truck back I noticed that it did not want to go into park sometimes. it got stuck in Reverse, but the lights showed no square around the "P" pr "R." I have to let off the brake and hope there is some kind of grade to get the truck to slightly roll into park. I know this is not good which is why I am starting this tread. It is starting to become more frequent.

I never had this issue before, but I believe it is common with this trany (48RE) since they put that annoying honking in if you open your door and are in reverse. This is embarrassing when I park the truck and go to get out and it starts honking because it is not all the way in park.

I was thinking about taking the truck back, but I got busy and it has been a couple of months now. Is this an easy adjustment? Should the guy who worked on the trany fix it for free? Thanks in advance for any help.

This is an easy adjustment. Remove the plastic cover from the bottom of the steering column (inside of the cab, directly adjacent to the steering wheel).
Place the shift selector in park, crawl under the truck and shift the transmission fully into park with your hand. Visually follow the shifter cable up the steering column to an enlarged area. You will see a white clip. CAREFULLY remove the clip with your hands only, and simply clip it back on. You're done!
If you break the white clip you get to buy a new shifter cable!
