does removing the silencer ring really make the turbo whistle more?

i just took it off and can't figure out how it would make it wine louder

 

have to get cold air intake. I put on afe torque tube and amsoil dry cone filter and made the rest. Talk about some whistle now. I swear it is like the 03 6.0 turbos. Look on you tube for 03 6.0 turbo or something like that it screams I promise. A

 

i have a intake already but i've heard that this just makes a little more noise

 

wow there is a lot more turbo wine than before but it's really really high pitch
