shudder

when i take off from a dead stop my truck shudders or kinda shakes, its an automatic. best way to describe is it is like letting out on a weak clutch.. any ideas?

It would probably help if you supplied your truck details. Make, model, miles etc.

Without any further info, my first guess is U joints.

Good idea about the U-Joints, but I would also check your center support bearing for wear and if it has NOT been lowered. From the '03 manual;

CENTER BEARING
Launch shudder is a vibration that occurs at first
acceleration from a stop. Shudder vibration usually
peaks at the engines highest torque output. Shudder
is a symptom associated with vehicles using a twopiece
propeller shaft. To decrease shudder, lower the
center bearing in 1/8 inch increments. Use shim
stock or fabricated plates. Plate stock must be used
to maintain compression of the rubber insulator
around the bearing. Do not use washers. Replace the
original bolts with the appropriate increased length
bolts.

What FMB said! I would start there and then on out to u joints. If its the center joint and not fixed soon you will have u joints to fix also.
