Shifting noise

I am experiencing a shifting noise in my auto tranny when it shifts into OD. It seems to happen only when the engine is under load (as when going up hill) and remains under load after shifting. Doesn't happen on the flat or if I crest a hill as it shifts into OD and only happens during the shift into OD. The dealer tech says its an external noise (not in the engine or tranny) and I have an appointment to have them look at it next week. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this noise and, if so, do you know the cause?<br><br>Thanks,<br>Kevin McD.

Re:Shifting noise

My 96 with an auto trans did the samething. Normal :'(<br>It is an external noise. As far as I could tell it was related to a low RPM exhaust noise. As soon as the load is off it goes away. ;D I can make my 03 do it and it`s a 5SPD.

Re:Shifting noise

Mine is making a slight vibration and noise shifting into OD but seems to only do it when I'm accelerating real easy. I've only got 700 miles on it so I figured it was still just breaking in.
