Shakey Truck...need advice

OK. I recently bought new tires and retired my 315bfgs (which were smooth as anything) with Tuff Country shocks. I bought the Procomp Extreme A/T with new Bilstein shocks. Front 5100s and rear are the 6250 model(which are compressed a lot to fit) Guy at www.jackit.com told me that the shock being compressed 3/4 of the way is fine. I put them on. Truck shakes b/w 55 and 70mph. Steering wheel does not shake and is very smooth at all speeds.

Tire guy is real helpfull. Bought back the procomps and put on Cooper discoverer ATS which are very quiet, very driver friendly tires. Ballanced them twice. Truck still shakes, but not as bad, Steering wheel still very smooth. Also had a mechanic check the driveline to make sure everything looks good and it did.

I don't think it's the lift kit b/c the shake started immediately after getting rid of the BFGs and worn out and beat up Tuff Country shocks.

called 10 different places inquiring about the roadforce balance and none are willing to try the larger tire.

could the rear shocks being 3/4 compressed be the problem.

running 45lbs in front tires and 31lbs in rear. seems to give the most pressure without loosing the footprint.

I'm at a total loss...

if you think the shocks are the problem, take all 4 off and take it for a ride.
if the shocks are too long then they are bottoming out on themselfs. all else fails look for a bent rim. good luck!

No bent rims, already checked that. Shocks aren't bottoming out there's a good 6" of compression travel, plus the shake happens on smooth roads as well as bumpy ones. How dangerous is it to drive without rear shocks? Wouldn't my rearend bounce uncontrollably? That sounded really bad but you know what I mean.

I would drop the rear drive shaft and make sure you dont have a tight or worn u-joint.
