service tranny in 05 dodge ram 2500

I had a flush, filter change and bands adjusted at 29000 miles, I took it in for a oil change at 48500 miles and they told me it was in need of the tranny service again, is there something that could be wrong causing my tranny to get so dirty so fast, my manual says every 30000 mile for service. I do tow a little but not very often but I dont want to a service every 20000 miles so is there something else I should be looking in to. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

I do agree w/ Zeus1987. If they had tried to sell it as a PM measure, different story. That being said, I change trans filter/ fluid/ adjust bands at least every other oil change (7500 mi intervals). IMO (I stress opinion) its cheap PM to prolong tranny life.

guess it depends on your dealership
i took my (new to me) 2005 dodge 2500 diesel in for trans servcie 42K, they did the service, drained oil, change fitler, I ask about differential, they checked fluid level, but said bring it back at 100k and they would change it

coolant, same thing, they checked it with some type instrument they had, said it was good to go, again bring it back at 100k

runs runs good, 52K now,

however i may take it back at 60 k and have the service on coolant and differential as the truck will be 7-9 years old by then.

I do mine every 30k miles and the last time it was spotless, looked new inside, oil, filter, bands. I think there looking for a donation.
