Read your other post Marks... Sounds like the dealer is a crook. Did he just 'forget' to tell you the truck had a veggie oil system on it and the engine was trashed and rebuilt?

Red796, I laugh everytime I see a post or an ad about a truck that reads "Mostly Highway Miles" I simply do not believe it when someone says that and actually did not look at a few just because of that. I know I see lots of trucks driving around my town but not as many on the highway. I just can't figure out where these things are getting their highway miles from!! LOL
Your truck is pretty low mileage regardless of if it is city or highway miles...
The manual lever is pretty easy to pull back. I prefer it to the electronic one. I can understand why you guys would prefer the push button though....

Around here, "highway miles" tends to translate to "Hot Shot" delivery driving. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas area is ripe with guys running delivery to the oil field. They'll drive the wheels off a CTD in a short period of time. In my case, I'll pay extra for the lower miles and peace of mind.
I'm not saying that the 100+ thousand mile trucks are bad, most are far from it. The 2001 3500 we currently have was bought with 144,000 miles on it. I replaced the VP44 and, tie rod ends, ball joints, steering arm and idler arm. Other than the issue with the rear seal leaking from the NV4500, it has been a very good truck. Once it warms up enough, I'll swap the NV4500 for a rebuilt non-leaker, and drive it some more until we can get the newer model in 4wd and auto trans. We just have to wait until the whole OJI case settles out.
