Seating the rings

Friend of mine just bought an 03 2500 and said that he wanted to "seat the rings" and decided to tow his smaller boat (larger one weighs 70,000 #'s) up a fairly steep hill. I was not aware of a need to seat rings in this manner. Has anyone heard of this and is it something I need to do when the time comes?

I think he has more to worry about than seating rings if he's going to haul a 70,000 lb boat with a 2500!!! (That's 35 tons!! )

Don't you people listen?? He said he was hauling the SMALLER boat. The LARGER boat is the one that supposedly weighs 70,000 pounds. :

Anyway, Noobie Daren, follow the directions in the manual for vehicle break in. It certainly helps to put load on the engine, but if you don't give it a load then it just takes a little longer to break the engine in.

Do you know how much beer you can get in a 21' bass boat??
You could have 35,000 lbs in no time!! LMAO!! :

But seriously, What ever he's hauling, I think the owners manual says to wait till after you have 1000 miles on it before towing.
