Why are you not using a 7 micron or smaller fuel filter in your stock fuel filter housing? I'm sure you have been told about the Baldwin PF7977 fuel filters being 5 micron and fit in the stock housing.

You don't need a $500 pump/filter setup to get good filtering. This head cost me $26 + s&h. Gotta fab your own mount tho, so I 'spose that could be prohibitive.:

Glad you got it back. Your numbers sound good to me. And yes, if I jump on mine, the egt's jump up like yours. I don't know about my automatic high idle, I remember when it came up, but don't remember if it automatically idles back down. Sallyman, if you don't have it already, you should go to a Cummins parts place and get the 12 buck pigtail, to allow you to high idle your engine with your cruise control, and go back in till its warm. You can set it to max of 1500. Where you live you would love it. Mine is 6 speed, and I did not have to go to dealer to have it enabled, I guess because of Smarty. Does power seem the same or is it too early to tell?

only thing i noticed is when im driving and i lay into it a little the boost climbs good 5,10,15,20 and then it dips really fast to like 18ish or so then goes back to 25 psi and holds it there? is that the wastegate? i ruled out air to air leak because it would never hold 30psi and it does.its like SOMETIMES i get a rapid spike drop in boost but then i gain it back right away.

BTW, yes it is normal for the engine to idle up and then back down on its own when its cold out, mine as well as other Dodge trucks in my area do the same thing.

My EGT's do rise as I increase the fuel, but then I have to shift gears which usually brings them down, then back up throught the next gear. I am guessing that an auto tranny has a different relationship to EGT's than a stick??

I have gotten pretty high EGT's towing when I lug the load and need to downshift, or have been on a relatively constant grade for an extended period of time. Probably 1200*s is the highest constant I have had over a couple miles or so, but I have also been in a lower gear to hold the speed/grade travel constant.
