Running lights and turn signals

Hey! I'm new to this Dodge diesel scene.I just purchased a 2006 Atlantic Blue Dodge SLT diesel. It's a beautiful truck but I have a question.
When the running lights are on and you signal left or right, are the corresponding running lights suppose to go out?
Example Left signal light, left running light.Right signal light, right running light.Dealership says thats normal.Thoughts?

It's normal. Without heaadlights on, the same side daytime running light (headlight) will turn off when signaling for greater visiblity of the signal light.
