running hot ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Really need some help put these post on another site and really haven't gotten to the bottem of my problems want to see if you guys can help.
My 03 4x4 auto runs hot at high speeds. It seems like the faster I go the hotter it gets. Running @ highway speeds (70-85) it stays between 210 and 220 but if you floor it the temp increases slowly with the speed as it goes over the 100mph range it could be well into 240 degrees if you hold it at that speed for any amount of time. This truck has new radiator, heater core, all hoses, all clamps, water pump, thermostat, overflow tank. The truck runs great hauls butt, oh and the tranny was built not to long ago. Is this normal? also I have had over 10k behind the truck running 75mph it runs @ 215+- in some small hills.

We took a 600 mile trip today through some hills ran the truck pretty hard on the way there 80+ and it ran 216-218 any faster the temp would climb @ 95mph it was 223+ and climbing, egts around 700 with the trottle opened slow back down to 80 and the temp almost instantly drops back to 216. Got home and checked the temp under the hood with a non-contact thermometer and a digital contact one also, found that the guage shows about 15 degrees different at the thermostat/temp location than the acutual temp and the water in the radiator is 35 + degress different. also the radiator is 40 degrees different from the top to the bottom, I dont think that is normal and the radiator is new as is every part of the cooling system. Gonna go get another new t-stat tomorrow and maybe a new temp sensor also or an additional manual gauge. looks like some of my prob. could be inaccurate guage readings, but there is still a problem for the temp to rise and fall like it is. Also there is no coolant loss, and no coolant in the oil and no steam or signs of coolant in the exhaust, and the truck runs real good no missing.
