Replaced #4 Injector Now This..
About 500 miles ago I had #4 replaced. Truck has around 110K miles on it and is a 2006. I have been putting plenty of Stanadyn fuel additive in the tank since the replacement, hoping not to have anymore go bad. Yesterday I had a 130 mile round trip to make. Long straight flat road in Florida. I started noticing a small vib in the steering wheel like a wheel lost a weight and needs balancing. When I got home in the driveway, I slowly ran up the rpm's. At 1400 the vibration started. It felt like something in the engine was out of balance. A small vibration, not like it was coming apart and no knocking. At 3500 rpm when I let off the fuel it shakes a couple instances idling down. I called a friend in NC that works on diesels and he suggested getting the valves adjusted. When #4 was replaced, is it normal to adjust those set of valves? He also talked about excessive return fuel and maybe a injector was not spraying correctly. Also, I don't think it is bad fuel. I filled up at a good station and the problem started with only 1/8 tank left. I replaced the fuel filter with a Baldwin just after the new injector was installed. Should I get an injector flush done?? Also, I have been told that when one injector goes bad watch out more will fail soon. Any ideas??

Start by filling the fuel tank, then try Your test again. You may be getting some air causing issues. Otherwise, it sounds like an injector issue, but eliminate the cheap stuff first.
Up Date..This morning I cranked it with the intention of taking it to the shop. It ran ruff for a couple minutes and then healed itself. Since I was down to 1/8 tank I went to a truck stop and added 15 gallons. added a lot of Stanadyne. It is running smooth. The problem went away before I got more fuel. As to the air I have a FASS lift pump. It is suppost to take care of the air but who knows. I don't have a clue as to what happened. I just hope it does not do it again.
