Trying to replace intake seals to fix a boost leak. The one that is leaking is the manifold plate (long rectangular 3in x 15in). Does anyone know if you can get the manifold plate out if you remove intake horn/grid heater and the fuel line clamps?? Or am i going to have to pull the injectors and fuel lines to get that thing out?? Looks like it might slide out towards the front with the fuel line clamps off but i can't tell. Also, has anyone been able to re-use the seals on the grid heater or should i replace them??

I really sure you have to remove the fuel line going to the head along with the intake heater.

 

you have to remove the fuel lines also and yes you can reuse the gaskets or at at least i have

 

Thats what i though, never as easy as it seems. The grid heater gaskets are cheap enough i think i'll just replace them all....Thanks!

 

Be sure not to over torque those bolts when you put the plate back on.. Heard of a few broken castings from overtightening them.
