Have a Compustar on my '03. Love it.

Where is the best place to get a Compustar 2 way FM starter?

Smokeman 01-30-2007 10:37 PM

Jeez, thats a good question, I think they are sold at all better install shops. I got mine from a local place that does starters, radios and phone installs.

I have a DEI Viper 2-way and it works pretty good.

Boarbuster, where are ya in Texas? Im in San Antonio and untill 3 months ago I could only find Compustar tech's in Austin (close to me). Now Mother's has techs to install here.

I have the Valet remote starter and it works fine. Not every installer is willing to put it on a manual, but it can be done safely. My son has one on his Neon 5-speed and it works fine.

I am in College Station but travel to Beeville every once in a while.

what about the high idle? i'd like to be able to start the truck, and kick up the high idle for when it's cold

ClackClack 02-01-2007 09:58 AM

My high idle kicks in after 3 minutes of idling automatically any time it is under 32 degrees. Had to disable the overspeed detection on the remote starter to keep it from shutting the engine down though.

I've had the Mopar remote start on both my 05 and 06 and been happy with it not sure if it works with a manual tranny though.

Does the remote start have a delay for the grid heater, before starting the truck?
