Relocated tranny temp sensor
Relocated tranny temp sensor
So I have had my tranny temp sensor in the test ports for the last 30k miles, so I decided to relocate it to the hot line right before servicing the tranny so I could have the tranny place fill it up with clean fluid.
I got to say that I should have relocated it sooner. The reading that you get from the test port is very deceiving. First it takes forever to respond, and second I see an average of 35 to 40 degrees higher
that I ever saw in the same driving conditions. So for all of you that have your tranny temp sensor in the test port, just consider that you are reading about 40 degrees lower that the fluid that is touching your gears.
