Redline in 6 speed?

Just making sure I order the right stuff. I need redline mtl for my 2004 6-speed right? And is it 4 qrts?

Also what is best to put in the transfer and the front and rear ends?

Thanks
Kris

Yes, Redline MTL for the NV5600. The tranny will hold 4.5 quarts, all little more if you jack up the rear of the truck.
Transfer case is ATF+4
Front axle use synthetic 75w-90 and the rear synthetic 75w-90 or 75w-140.

I just did the MTL thing... I'd be sure to pull the PTO cover to clean the magnet.

I was shocked how much was on mine after only 27,000.

Mine would only take 4 quarts. i called the dealership and they said 4 quarts, so I bought 5 just in case. The truck was pefectly level, and even at 4 quarts, it started pouring out the fill hole. Should I jack up the rear and add more?

Did you pull the PTO cover, or just the bottom bolt?

I pulled my cover and there was still quite a bit of old oil sitting in the bottom of the case that I pumped out, then put in about 4.5 q...

How bout the G56, in the manual it says to use ATF, does redline have a good ATF or is there one better? And does anybody know how much it will hold?

I didn't pull the cover off. Do most of you pull the cover off?

My first tranny fluid change I pulled the PTO cover off and cleaned the magnet. The magnet had a fine layer of metal attached.

The G56 requires ATF+4. I heard the tranny holds 7 quarts which is above the fill hole.

The magnet is just sitting in the bottom. Mine had a bunch of metal on it (photo in my gallery).

I pulled the right cover, and it was easy to reach in get the magnet.

Yes, Redline has C+ Auto Tranny fluid. And, they have 75w-90 Gear oil for front and rear end too. If you order the 75w-90 get the stuff with the ls additive in it, instead of the 95w-90NS oil. It will emlinate any rear end chatter. Yes, I know these trucks don't have clutch packs in them.

Cheapest place I ever found was www.myoilshop.com out of PA. THey ship it directly to your house! Almost everything is $7 a quart.

Someone gave you bad information that MTL isn't GL-4 . Matter of fact, I have some left over and will be replacing wife's Hyundai Santa Fe 5 spd transaxle fluid with the MTL in about 30.days.

I've run both Amsoil and then Redline MTL in the tranny; my tranny shifted nicer after the Amsoil. Next time, Amsoil will go in again.
