Recall noticed received today...

2003-2005 model Rams.

Apparently (first time hearing this one...) the truck can slip out of park.

The fix is to add an alarm if you exit open the truck when it's on and not all the way into park.

I'll get it done when I have time...doesn't sound too pressing.

From what I hear, the people who have it on the newer trucks are trying to figure out how to disable it. I think I'm going to pass on it.

Yah.. Really annoying.

Just be sure to place the shifter all teh way in park. About 2% of the time, my Dad does not, and neither "R" or "P" are illuminated on the shift indicator.

Just push the shifter nice and firm against the Park "stop". It's easier to replace some worn bushings in the shifter than have your truck roll away.

What the recall is doing is reflashing your ECM so that if you are unbuckled, door open, and foot off brake and in reverse, the horn will honk, just like of you had hit the "panic" button on your alarm.
Yucky.
