Rear end options, or not

I'm a newb here on the forum and new to Dodge trucks, well and diesels too for that matter. I'm reading everything I can find on the subjects. I've just picked up an 04 2500 QC, SB, 4x4, Laramie, CTD, Triple Dog w/ Outlook, 4" exhaust straight piped. I understand that I have an AAM 11.5" rear end and it doesn't look to me like I have limited slip - I got stuck on a flat peice of snow in front of the day care lady's house. Thankfully I have '4-wheel' drive.
Anyway do I have any options besides limited slip? Everything I see only fits up to the 10.5" HELP!

Thank you all for the great wisdom in this forum.

Welcome to the party. I'm a 4x2 so I probably won't be much help, but the next time it tries to spin just ease your foot on to the brake just a little bit and see if that helps.

Welcome Aboard.

Been there done that. They're limited slip, not lockers. Try a search, this has been discussed before.

Just this morning as I arrived at work with a fresh 3" snow in the parking lot I did some experimenting. As you suggest I tried a little brake to see what that would do. Hanging my head out the door watching my rear wheel and applying the brake I could not get power to that wheel. Only once did I see/feel the rear end slid sideways a bit indicating I may have power to both wheels. Power seems to favor the passenger side rear wheel.

Thanks,

Ok then, just found the search page. Question answered. I can't believe there aren't enough 03 and up diesels out there to warrant building us a locker of some sort. AAM must have the capacity to modify there 10.5 Tracrite GTL.

There is a locker available in the 11.5" AAM.

You just have to buy a GM product to get it

I'm not sure if it is sourced through AAM or Eaton but it is a GM "exclusive"

It wouldn't be so bad if there was electronic traction control to modulate the brake on the spinning wheel but I'm sure the bean counters at DC decided 4 channel ABS and TC were not needed.
