Rear end

2005 diesel 2500 heavy duty.
What is the common gear ratio and carrier type in the rear
end from factory?
Or the best way to find out what I have in my truck.

I believe there is a sticker in the glove box that states what axle ratio your truck has- if I remember correctly

You can also make a request to Dodge to get your build sheet... Mine has the 3.73 rear end in it.. which was common.

With standard tires, your engine speed at 60mph would be 1800 with 3.73 gears and 2000 rpm with 4.11 gears.

Gears in rear end
