Raptor 100 install HELP

Hey guys I have received some valuable help here before and was needing some help with installing my Raptor 100 pump...

Most of it is straight forward but where is the best mounting location on the frame rail ?? also can the pump be mounted on the inside rail and flipped so the lines run proper without bends ??

And one more question I see the fitting on the tank through the rear fender but which one do you remove and please tell me how to take that connector off ?

I was thinking taking the tire off to gain more room as I am a big guy and it looks tight in there....

I plan on doing this tonight so any help is greatly appreciated.

And many thanks to the guy who posted on here about if your lift pump dies on you and leaves you stranded gently tap it with a hammer/wrench with key on and it may come back to life - sure enough it did and got me home and it's parked now until I fix her !!

I routed the lines to the pump just like it was shown in the instructions. The pump inlet is pointed towards the front of the truck and that line comes over the top of pump. And the outlet is to the rear and is routed over the inlet line is a cross pattern.

I mounted the pump just forward of the rear cab mount, on the inside of the frame rail.

Taking the rear tire off will help in getting to the top if the tank. IIRC that fitting is the rear one, Dorman pinch style so just reach in there and pinch the two tabs together while gently pulling on the line, should come right out.
Will have to cut off the blue locking tab that will remain on the nipple so the new supplied fitting in the kit will lock into place.

what did you do with the stock line, just leave it ??
also crossing those lines does not affect pressure at all ??

I left the stock line in place.

No problems. The fuel line fittings are 90 degrees for the pump so it's best to route the lines up and over the pump.

I used a teflon paste that's fuel and oil rated. Just make sure none of the paste gets inside the lines. I applied the paste to the AN fittings (cone shaped ones).

Well I hope I haven't damaged my CP3 injector pump as I have had my lift pump die on me and work again off and on
It has been like this for about a week but would only die when I step on it.
I would of had the Raptor on sooner but where I live no one stock themand had to order from the states side.......

The CP3 is pretty robust, unlike the VP44 that will fail after the lift pump dies.

The Duramax also uses the CP3 and it doesn't even have a lift pump!

Got the kit today and went to install the pump with supplied brackets and there is a metal bracket on the inside frame rail in the way...I read somewhere that this can be removed, if so how ? (I can't see how you can get anything up there to remove that factory bracket)

After taking off the transfer case protector/skid plate I found another option to mount the pump, basically just a few inches closer to the transfer case toward the front of truck - is this okay ? the fuel line looks like it will have room

I noticed the same frame bracket also. It's only there for manufacturing. I mounted the pump just forward of that. Can use a plasma cutter or a sawzall to remove the bracket but that's too much work for me.

I had that same stupid bracket on my truck on the frame so I just moved things slightly forward to avoid that and still had plenty of room without an issue. I know it may not seem like it when you are in the midst of doing it, but the install isn't too complicated for the Raptor pump. I'm doing one for my father's truck in a couple of months and am actually looking forward to it since I won't be figuring certain things out as I go along.

If you get the AD with the Raptor mountin brackets you can mount the unit parallel to the frame so you'll only have 1 hose pointing the wrong way like shown here:

There's a link in my signature that may help you out.

So just finished the install and I don't know if it's just me or what but it seems like I am producing more boost now at lower rpm's.
Would this have anything to do with Raptor install ??
