17,000 miles trouble free with the 285/75-17 Open Country AT E-rated 10 ply tire. I found with 50 psi. it runs smoother than with 65 psi.(no brainer, but thought I would say it any way).

I was not aware that Toyo made the MT in the 285 75 17. I am currently running the Toyo AT 285 75 17 load range E and are rated to 3970# each. Ride quiet, smooth, brought down my rpm's on the highway, look nice, fill out the wheel well, no rubs, and not too expensive. I will buy another set when these go.

Correction. My mistake Toyo does make a MT in 285 75 17, must be a new size!! Load range E but only 3195# each, still not too bad.

so i guess we all now know that toyo makes a 285/75/17 in both the a/t and m/t! it's the m/t that has the lower weight rating at 3195 lbs. phew!

I have a set of the TOYO AT's on my Ford 4x4 dually. They have about 35K miles on them and still look good. While they have given me good service on dry and wet roads, I was very unhappy with their performance in snow. In fact, a light snow amount at that. I HAD to use my 4 wheel drive to have any real amount of traction that felt safe to drive, but it certainly was not at a decent rate of speed. I can compare the TOYO's performance to my Dodge with the stock BFG's that came with the truck new. The BFG's were off in the first 5K miles.

which are the same as my spare, since I have a Limited slip Dana 80 under my beast.

I've got the 285/75/17s on mine and I love them! Oh, and the weight rating is 3970 each.

These tires are way different than the 285/70s. They weigh more and the sidewall is WAY stiffer on the 75 compared to the 70 series (both E rated)

It is a fairly new size but Les Schwab carries them and the other dealers will soon catch up.

Not sure about shipping costs, but the prices here are good:

http://www.tiredeals4less.com/TOYO_O...174.cfm?Page=4

And they have the 285/75 AT as well. I will probably go with the 70 because I am looking for a smoother ride and don't tow that much weight. I was thinking about going with a "D" rated 285/70, but I think that they would probably wear out a lot faster. That seems to be the case with other "D" rated tires on these heavy trucks... and probably why you see such inconsistencies with the Nittos.
