Question on Transmission Cooler Lines
Question on Transmission Cooler Lines
I just noticed the bottom of the two lines that go to the fluid to air transmission cooler has started leaking on my truck. A couple questions that I have: 1. are these dealer only parts? 2. Are these quick disconnect on both ends of the line? If so what kind of special tool do I need? I have a set of Lisle fuel disconnect tools. 3. The fittings do appear to have some rust / corrosion, is this going to be a problem with the quick disconnects?
Truck is an 04.5 3500 SRW. Smarty SSR, built trans, 4" AFE exhaust. I read the forum every day, but have only posted a few times.
Thanks in advance.

Oh yes, I used a set of A/C quick disconnects to undo mine during a cam install. It is loads of fun, basically a big pain in the butt. Just be patient and don't bend the tranny cooler lines. I think they are dealer only parts.
I know it's a little late but mine has done it 2 times now with the most recent 2 weeks after I got my trans rebuilt. Long story short the nipple on the cooler hard line was wore out and the new $140+ dealer only line is leaking so I ordered a fluidyne enduro cooler with a fan and just recieved all my earls fittings to adapt from the trans case to the cooler and back. Hopefully this keeps her cool and happy. This diesel stuff is getting expensive !!!!! But fun!!!!!!!!
