question on silencer ring

have an 06 and was wondering if removing the silencer ring makes a difference, and if so some tips on getting it out of there

I do not have an 06 but the only gain is more turbo noise(whistle), no performance gains.

Yep...

I pulled mine when I installed the air intake I made...

Use a screwdriver and snap the ring out of the slot on one side(may need to hold other end with another screwdriver so it doesnt try to rotate)
then just work your way around it and pop it out little by little...

The difference isnt that noticeable, but worth it. If you make or modify your torque tube, it will help make the trubo louder. Add a BHAF and it should scream.
