Power Steering Pump Leak

Looking for some advice on my power steering pump. I have a leak and I am looking at replacing the unit. My local dealer tells me that they have an updated part that has the pump, reservoir, and bracket. All for like over $750 plus core! Is this the way to go or is there a better source for a quality part? I tried various searches but came up empty. Thanks in advance for advice.

I've never had an issue with my pump, and I haven't used this company's products, but you might want to do a search for Red-Head steering gear on here and check out their website.

They seem to be popular and are located in the Seattle area.

I've also bought Mopar parts on line (upgraded steering gear) and had them installed at local shops. That way I got the genuine Mopar parts at a reduced price and had them installed at a shop with lower labor rates than my local dealer.

Thanks for the reply EDR. I will look into Red-Head. I live just across the river from you in Pasco. LOL.

I just purchased a used upgraded pump from a wrecker yard.

I got the part numbers from the dealer and looked it up and they were on the 2008 dodge diesels, bolt on backing cast aluminum pump. I paid $125CAD for the pump, reservoir and pulley. Figured i can replace the pump easy enough if it is no good, the reservoir alone was over $100 from the dealer.

Power Steering Pump and Pulley – Part # 68034326AB
Power Steering Pump Reservoir – Part # 68034303AB
Power Steering Pump Pump Bracket – Part # 68100252AA

Dealer wanted $1200CAD for the new upgraded parts!!

So I called Red head today and they don't carry the pumps. Sounds like
the steering gear is what they focus on. Looking like my best bet might be the bone yard. Thanks for the ideas guys.

Check Rock Auto......best prices in the industry. I bought a replacement pump just to keep on the shelf, as mine sweats a few drops in a month or so. I think it cost me less than $60 new without a core. I have yet to change the original out and I bought the pump a year ago.

So Red-Head just sells the steering gear. Oh well, Sorry.
I figured you might be fairly close, with the Eastern WA location, but you're very close.

So where are you going to check for a pump? I don't know of any wrecking yards around here. Yakima or Spokane maybe? I need to find a good yard myself. My son's '01 Rams hood and hinges were damaged.
If I find a good yard I'll let you know. If you find one while you're searching please let me know. EDR
