View Poll Results: What oil do you use in your diesel???

Rotella T 15w40 47 34.56%
Mobil Delvac 1300 15w40 15 11.03%
Chevron Delo 15w40 26 19.12%
Shaeffer 15w40 2 1.47%
Phillips 66 HD 15w40 0 0%
Mobil Synthetic 5w40 11 8.09%
Amzoil Synthetic 5w40 6 4.41%
Royal Purple Synthetic 15w40 1 0.74%
Chevron Synthetic 5w40 1 0.74%
Other??? 30 22.06%

These are the results from a poll done a while back. That poll didn't include Valvoline Premium Blue, so that is most of what the "other" is.

I guess I am the only one using Mobil Delvac 1300. I change my oil and filter about every 7,500 miles. I have used Rotella, but don't care for the burnt oil smell in the cab after an oil change. Delvac does not do that.

I've used Rotella 15/40 in all my semi engines (1.5 million miles in the last 14 years) so that's what I use in my Dodge Cummins. Besides, I had 9 cases left over when I sold my Mack.

Delvac 1300 every 5000 miles and a stratapore filter. Oil is still light colored at that point, but the time interval is about 6 months.

2nd crank case full of Rotella synthetic, have 7500 miles on it and can still read the dipstick marks through it. Anybody have the address where to send the oil for analysis or how to do it? I may just change the filter this time around, it's due right now.

NOTE: never mind the info, I found it in the next oil thread "Different Oil Question"
