I think on some of them, you can buy an insert or cartridge that has the wheels and bearings, but no housing. I could be wrong.

OK, you can't just start the story and not finish it-----how did you find out that an inlet fin is bent? Did it happen removing that missing silencer ring?

Silencer ring is MIA, that took 3 mins and went smooth.

No no no, I get the IDIOT OF THE YEAR AWARD. Did an oil, fuel, and air fillter change on Mon. Make a long story short, i was down in the shop, in the middle of doing the service, cell phone ringing, lines 1 and 2 ringing and trying to conduct 4 things at once. I put a cloth shop rag to block the opening of the tube so I could take compressed air and blow out the bottom of the air filter box. One thing led to the next, customer emergency, put everything back on, and I forgot to take out the rag. I spent 3 hrs cleaning what looked like dryer lint out of the intercooler and front of the turbo inlet. Needless to say the truck runs fine, and the whistle is unbeleivable, however my concern is that the turbine wheel could be off balance on the inlet side.......

I know , I know, I know, let the bashing begin. can't be any harder on me than I am on myself.......

No bashing from me here, I did something similer. I had a old chev 6.2 that I was cleaning out the air box with a roll of shop towels. Put the roll on the air cleaner hold down bolt on top of the intake, got a phone call had to go inside for a minute. Got off the phone wife wanted me to move the truck so she could go shopping, so I jumped into truck started it up to back up alittle so she could get out of the drive, with paper towel still on top of intake. As I was backing up I could see this white and black stuff floating around the truck, What the!! I thought to self, cant be snowing its summer time. Jumped out of the truck to see what is going on and saw that this stuff was coming out of the tail pipe of the truck. Holy crap the paper towel!! turned off the truck looked around to see if any one saw the goof I made, wife was laughing my nieghbor was looking to see what was going on. The kid across the street came over and looked at me and said I dont think thats the way you should clean the inside of your motor, he was six years old at the time this happened. But it still ran like a 6.2 after that so I dont think any thing really bad happened to it, except for the fact it was a 6.2.
