Poll about 70mph vibration

I'm curious what model truck you have where the 70mph vibration is occuring.

Please do not post in this thread. Post in the other one that is stuck in the same forum. Thanks.

ALSO, PLEASE DO NOT POST A VOTE UNLESS YOU'RE EXPERIENCING THE VIBRATION!

Only problem with this poll is you need to add your control group. Those w/o the problem and what they are driving. So you can get a total number of trucks to factor the greater average of each type.

I have a rear view mirror vibration on my 04 600 series 2500 LWB 4 door 4x4 dodge ram (cummins).

The dealer has tried replacing the mirror, but it still does it.

Im also experiencing a pulsing hmm every 2 seconds when around 70-75mph.

Please advise.

I had the vibration in my '04 2500 LWB... put my hand to sleep when I was driving. The power steering vibration TSB for the '03 resolved mine. The vibration was at 68-74mph in 6th gear, but was also present in 3rd, 4th, and 5th -- all at 1950 - 2200 rpm.

myne was very bad at 70 to 85 then last week i put the truck on my lift and saw 6 to 7 good sized dents from just being a dummy off road well 1100 dollers later a transfer case rebuild and a new drive shaft no more vibration. look under at the cairrer bareing on the shaft and feel for play in it if their is any this will rattle the yoke seals on the transfre case loose and will just give out one day.
good luck josh

How many of these still have the factory "off-road tires" on them. I just bought my truck yesterday and I can feel a slight vibration almost magically appear when I get to 71-72 mph. I also hear a hum. Almost like when a truck has tires that are real knobby. I tend to think that it could be pointing to the "striping" that these factory tires come from. Mine is a 2500 SWB 4X4, off-road towing package. Just a thought....

You described my vibe to a tee.

I have the Michelins, so there goes that theory!

I think the most success with this has been had with front drive shaft replacement although others have claimed success with Tcase, rear drive shaft, yokes, exhaust mounts, etc. Mine is not horrible so I'm just living with it - for now.

It's a thought anyways...... I work on computers and Voice over IP, I'm a repair technician, I have a really bad habit of looking for similarities. The dealership doesnt really have any acceptable explanation. So, it is up to us folks!

I'm with Mule. Mine rides like it's on air. Not a hint of a vibe.

If somthing is welded wrong, then I wonder what would make 70 mph be the magical threshold? If there were some hoses that were not weighted, then why would they swing so quickly and rythimicly? I wonder if it might have somthing to do with the computer, there might be a mechanisim that has a weight on it that is off centered spin.... Pickups are not really intended to be racing vehicle from the factory, this would seem plausible to me considering the ease at which these big trucks get up and go. It is VERY easy to put your foot in it and not feel like you are travelling at the speed your speedo says. .... hey, just a thought. I find it VERY difficult there would be such an obvious defect put on the market willingly considering the history that mercedes benz has enjoyed, they have alot riding on thier reputation.
