Question Play in the drivetrain

With about 7000 miles on this truck I have noticed something (maybe a problem).

When cruising in any gear and slowly letting off the throttle, a pretty obvious "clunk" takes place. There's no noise, just the feeling of some slack being taken up and being nudged forward in your seat a little. I feel the same "clunk" happen when I'm totally off the throttle and slowly starting to push the pedal back down. It just feels like there's a lot of slack somewhere in the drivetrain.

I just wanted to know if this slack in the drivetrain is normal for a these trucks.

Thanks

I would say you could check your driveshaft u-joints but you have a 2WD... maybe driveshaft u-joint?

My rig has a little bit of driveline slack, but I wouldn't say it is excessive. It doesn't seem like much more than any other manual transmission vehicle I have owned.
