P 0299 code

Hey guys,
My wifes 05 has some troubles. She said that the check engine light came on and now it's very low on power. I brought it to the dealer and they didn't know what the 299 code meant, so they ran a scan. Low boost. They cleared it and said try it. It's still low, way low on power. The service guy said he'll have to call the HOT LINE! Oh no! That doesn't sound good. I talked to a local diesel guy and he said that the boost sensor is probably shot. I know that if the answer is anywhere it's here. So what do you guys think? The truck has a T.S. Ramifier box and a K&N intake on it. It is also straight piped. It has 23000 miles on it.
Thanks,
Topper

Low Boost

Actually the boost sensor could be correct and the simple answer is in fact low boost. The low boost could be from a possible leak between the turbo and intake valves. Two places to look would be the rubber boots and the intercooler, especially if it has plastic tanks on it.

ya, check all the plumbing for the turbo and innercooler and make shure the boots didnt slip off. I also think the 05's have plastic ends on the innercooler which could be cracked.....

Hmm...
Could be a bad sensor or a bad TS box.

I have thrown the 0299...its usually happens when one runs a large aftermarket charger (and usually takes a BDDL to clear or Smarty)

Let us know what it ends up being.

Hey guys,
Well first off thanks for the replys! The truck is back and running great! The problem was the intercooler. It split the thing in half. When the truck was off you could barely see the crack but when it was under boost it would open up. The service manager told us that it wasn't the first time Dodge had to replace an intercooler. He also told us that the new one is re-designed to hold up better.
