oops!!!!

is there a special filter for synth oil i have been running lf3972 fleetgaurd filter for 2 oil changes i hope it didnt damage the engine????

just got off the phone with cummins store they said there is a different filter for synth oil part # lf 16035 is he right ???

Yes and no...the other filter is better and likely is designed also with extended drain intervals in mind which is mainly when synthetic is used ( in theory). There will be no harm done if using the other filter as long as you follow Dodge/Cummins recommended service interval. Likewise the better filter can also be used with Dino oil.
