Oil "stain" around axles

Is it "normal" to have a little oil leaking out of the axles just to wet the area a little where the drive shaft enters or do I have a bad seal or something?

If you are talking about the pinion seal, thats where the driveshaft hooks to the rear end, no its not normal to have any type of leak there. I would wipe it off and keep an eye on it, if it get wet or starts dripping again I would take her in and get her fixed........

Also keep an eye on your rear end fluid level.

I have no drips, just a wet stain back about 4 inches from the front of the houseing where the shaft goes in on the rear and perphaps 2 inches on the front. I was told that when the seals are new, as I assume they are on a new truck, that you can expect some initial leakage.

I have cleaned them off today and I am going to see if they recur.
