Toyota?? I had one once-What's the big deal? Mine broke, just like every other car I've had. It is amazing how people can be mislead into that train of thought!! What about the "Ridgeline" another great looking vehicle.

i don't see what this has to do with toyota, but since it was mentioned, i drove a tundra for 4 years and it was about 1/16 the truck this one is, even with the engine problem.

yes it is in the dealership and covered under warranty. i made sure there was no problem with my AFE intake and PML transmission pan. they did not even look for a box. i had the edge/attitude installed for a grand total of about 12 hours before they told me the motor had to be pulled. i took it off before i took it in, only the thermocouple remained in the exhaust manifold. i told them "i took my gauges off before i brought it in." if anything makes you believe in god... parts alone are over $8,000, i've been saying my prayers.

idk if a new head comes with the short block or not. i'll find out. how long do i want to allow to break the new engine in before reinstalling my edge?

Long block = head and block. Short block = NO head.

gotcha

got the truck back, runs great, no oil leaks. it was super quiet at first, now it is starting to get its normal rattling sound back. warranty repairs were $8,600. i took some pics of the cam bushings, you can see them on the thread at dieselram or i'll post them here.

You should stick in a new torque converter while it's easy to get to.
