Noobie to 3rd gen Mileage ????
I just went through my second hand calculated mileage test. First test with stock tire size and a little bit of towing 12mpg, second with same 13mpg!!!!! What the________ I was getting 17intown and 20 highway with my 93 dually 5spd. My truck is an 03 5spd 4x4 with 4" exhaust stock intake, stock tire size. Just put in the Juice W/ additude, will this help??? What esle do I need to get some better MPG??? Sell it??? and go back to my old 93?? Thanks

I've been having the same problem with my '03. Took it to the dealer on monday and had the ECM re-flashed. It had never been done before on my truck. There were some fuel management updates which have helped my MPG out some.
What rear dif are you running? You're probably not going to approach gen2 fuel economy with the common rail in stock condition.

The truck has 50,000 miles on it, I have been towing and driving about 60-65. I'm going to the dealer Monday to have it flashed see if it helps. Why the Smarty programer??

Smarty claims to be undetectable when set back to stock and I get about 2 mpg better with level 3.
at 50,000 and a srw, you should be getting about 16-18 unloaded driving 75 on the interstate. In town probably 14-16. I don't have much experience to know about loaded mpg.
