I get pretty similar numbers to Mr. Chilton above me here, best mileage @ 55, can get 22-23 going that sloooooooowww. One thing the better mileage trucks all seem to have in common is: Rokktech sensor or tone wheel mod, redone intake, and freer flowing exhaust. My $.02, which doesn't buy as much as it used to.

I have a QC Dually w/3.73s around town I get around 14 mpg, this would be running the truck stock with just the intake/exhaust and have gotten 18.5 on highway at 65mph. so much of this question depends on where your driving and what speed your going. I have 23,000 miles on my truck and would guess that my total average has been about 15 mpg

fuel additive

dont know if anyone has tried the fuel additive from walmart comes in grey bottle and i cant think of the name of it off hand. it says it cleans injectors and improves cetane numbers as well as improve economy. i have ran it for two weeks now and per tank the additive cost about $3 and gets me 120-130 extra miles a tank. anyone have any luck with this or any other products?????

I drove down to Kitty Hawk, NC this past weekend. I filled up to the neck near RIC airport. Drove 148.6 miles to KH, drove around the OBX over the weekend (30 miles) and then drove back and filled up again. Just over 320 miles round trip. I drove 65-70 mph most of the way, except from NC to line to KH and back, that was 55-60mph. I got 22 MPG.
03 2500 HO, 6 spd manual, 315s, 3.73s, Edge EZ on level 4, 125,000 miles on the ODO, 450 pounds of passengers and 500+ pounds of toolbox, gear and junk.

Before I installed the 315s I would get 23-24 mpg on the highway.

Last tank before the trip I got 19.9 and that was a mixture of highway and intown stop and go.

I keep good milage records and what I have found out is empty at 60mph I get 19-19.5 depending on the wind. Every 5mph more I loose at least 1mpg. So I try to keep it under 70mph. Pulling a 6000lb trailer I get 12.5-13 at 60. I talked with my father-in-law who has a 2006 GMC and he gets about 1.5mpg better fuel milage that I get. He also looses 1mpg every 5mph after 60.

Im very gentle on the throttle of my 2005 2500 4x4, figuring the harder I push the throttle, the harder I have to push the brakes, around town, the truck does about 14-16.

as a commuter truck back and forth to work, 100 miles round trip, 70 mpg in the morning, 40-55 in the evenings the truck takes between 22 and 24 gallons every 5 days, so if we call it an average of 23 per 500 miles of driving, it breaks down to a little less than 22 mpg

Hand calc'ed for my 80 mile per day commute; 1/2 highway, 1/4 back roads, 1/4 city... ~19.2 MPG. Consistently.

Overhead varies; 19.6 to 19.8 MPG

OK just did my mileage figures for the last 3 years...I have logged every ounce of fuel put in the tank since I hit 50,000 miles.
Consumed 3971.453 gallons of fuel
Drove 78051.6 miles
For an avg. of 19.653mpg.
This has thousands of miles towing a 6x12 motorcycle trailer that has about 7.5-8 ft profile and weighs about 3000 pounds and a couple thousand miles pulling a Jeep on a flatbed trailer weighing just over 6000 pounds and sits much higher than the cab of the truck. The first 20,000 miles of that had alot of HEAVY city, stop and go driving in Charlotte, NC.

19-12 towing , 17-22 empty always calculated, I don't trust the overhead with mods.

Hey Hoss what exactly does a empty bed mean to you! The best I,ve seen is 21.3 and worst is 11.7 towing heavy. Average winter fuel 16-18 and 19-20 summer.
