New Truck Smoke

I purchased a new 06 a few days ago and I have a question concerning the exhaust smoke. I make my living with this truck as a Hot Shot Driver. On it's first trip I did a 600-mile turn around. When I go home I noticed the right rear side of the truck was covered with black soot from the exhaust and the inside of the tailpipe has about 1/4 inch of soot build up. I did not run the truck hard and was only carrying about 300 pounds in the bed. It also seems hard to start not like my 02 I traded in on it. My neighbor who is a diesel mechanic on industrial engines seems to thick the computer has it running to rich.???? Anybody got any ideas?

I don't know the TSB number but quite sure there is a TSB for a computer flash that deals with the smoke and other issues. Sorry but you will have to take it to the dealer for the flash.

Some of the '06 owners in this group have been reporting bad injectors early in the life of the truck. Check your oil level. If it is over filled or smells like fuel, you have a problem. Seems some injectors crack or otherwise fail and leak copious amounts of fuel into the cylinder washing down the walls and makes its way to the oil pan. Hopefully, you are not one of them, but it is easy to check.
