New leak.....could use some help

Sorry for my lack of knowledge here...I read a lot more than I post. Engine coolant leak coming from small radiator looking device next to transmission on driver side.....had been losing fluid for some time but couldn't find leak (must have been small) now it seems to have sprung a good leak. Any ideas??

This came in the middle of my decision making process about my HVAC issuses with mode, blend and recirc doors...... guess the leak gets the attention first.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Automatic? If so, it's the trans heat exchanger. You should see coolant lines and trans fluid lines going in and out.
Can you tell exactly where the leak is?

Thank you....Yes automatic, not yet got to work and it was leaking (still dark) have looked again but can't tell much until I get her home. There appears to be an accumulation on the box itself but it could be from one of the lines. I'll be honest....I don't know what this heat exchanger is or what it does...looking at diagrams wholesalemopar has it listed as a 'cooler torque convertor'.....somone had another post about a 'heat exchanger' today and a possibillity of bypassing it??

It exchanges heat between the trans and engine coolant system. It works both ways, both to warm the trans fluid (initially, to get the ATF up to temp - primarily needed with low ambient temps) and to remove heat from the trans fluid when hot.
You can remove it, but I wouldn't recommend it on a daily driver.
I think you need to determine exactly where the leak is. Make sure you don't have coolant in the trans fluid, or vice versa. That is a sure way to kill the tranny.

I had the same issue. I had to put some hose clamps on the 2 coolant hoses and that took care of the problem. Hope this helps for you.
