NEW 2005 Ram 4x4 purchase?

I'm almost ready to purchase an 05 4x4 CC Automatic short box w/ the Cummins. I have read all the posts about the drive line vibrations and the weatherstrip problems. The build date might also be helpful? I will be watching close for those vibes on the test drive. Hopefully if it does'nt have any when I test drive it , they won't delvelope later. Is there anything else I should be aware of? Thanks for any imput any of you might have. Its a lot of money to spend!

Also a big key to remember is how many people complain about something. Yes some have driveline vibrations and you hear about how 50 people on here have it, but how many trucks have been bult 500,000 thousand, so it's a very very small percent that have it. I havn't had any yet. You will also find a lot of people have modified there trucks. Not too many people with stockers complain, and if you have it, take it back, it's under warentee for a long time

I bought the same truck you're looking at a month ago today. It's my first dodge and by far the best truck I've ever owned.

Drive line

I have the drive line and in litigation with DC there is a notisiable droning sound in conjunction with the vibe very noticable also I am all stock no mods at all. I have 15,000 miles on it and have had it since day 1 purchased vehicle with 14 miles on it and didnt know of this issue and thought it was a tire out of balance. My truck which is the 2500 series with the H.O. Turbo diesel, 4x4, 4 door, slt model,Auto trans, short bed. Anyways has all the repairs done to solve the problem and none worked so just stay away from the lemons.

Thanks for all your replies. I went again to the dealers today to test drive and look at the drive lines. All the trucks on the lot of this style 4x4 QC short box had steel drive shafts with a large dampener at the front end of the shaft. The shafts also had 2 and 3 balance weights on them. Do the problem trucks have the same type of shafts with dampener? Also I used my discount with Costco stores membership and the dealer quoted me 34,846,00 + tax for a loaded truck with the CTD. What do you all think?

magna-joe, I just bought the truck in my sig with pretty much everything but leather for $34,500 after rebates. That was last month before they upped the rebates another $500. No driveline vibe so far but mine is a LWB.
