Just wanted to stop in and say hey, new to the site and had a couple of questions, didnt know where to post. I will try here first. I am thinking on buying a 07 2500 with 5.9 in it and just wanted to know what i was getting into. Im i dealing with a nice truck here and what kind of milage should i be getting with it. I have been told so many different storys on milage. This truck will have 2 to 5 k miles on it when i get it. I am getting rid of my Fooord POS F-150 4x4 xlt. I thing that alone is a good thing.

when i got my 06 5.9 i was getting 13 mpg until around 15k then it started to go up. I am at 31k and i get 18-19 mpg (all those numbers are city and highway driving.

On the interstate going 65-70 i get around 21-23 mpg. you will find that happy medium where you get the best once you drive it a little. You basically want to keep the RPM's under 2k. anything over 2 is where your eatting gas bad.

You will notice that your maintnace cost quite abit more but its also not nearly as often.

 

wow makes me want to get something with about 15k miles. I have been telling the wife i would be getting better then the ferd truck and that gets 17 on the hwy. but pulling my car trailer it only gets 8mpg. Maintance cost is higher but your right not as often so it evens out inless you have major problems.

I have an 07 2500 with 5.9 and I LOVE it.

I have never gotten over 12mpg and i have 38k on it. But I jacked it as soon as I bought it and have been running 37's lol

Let your wife test drive it...she'll love it. Great truck!
