Need help with
Need help with coolant heater instal.
I bought a KATs tank heater and I need to place it in such a fasion that it can draw cold coolant from down low on the block and return it to a higher piont in the engine. I see NPT plugs in the top of the head on the exauast side and plan to dump it back in to one of those but where can I tie into down low to draw cold coolant from?
This is what I got.

Don't you just put it into a heater hose, flow the same direction as normal operation? All the ones I put in years ago just went in line. If you create a bypass in the wrong spot you could have problems.
Ya but it says to get coolant from low in the block. The directions say to have the inlet side of the heater lower than the heater and if I put it in the heater hose that would be imposible. Would it still work if I put it lower than the location where its getting the cold coolant from? Anyone know what direction the coolant flows threw the heater core? Is it sucking off the port at the top of the head and returning it to the metal line or dumping it back into the top of the head and getting it from the metal line? It would be nice if it is dumping the coolant back into the top of the head. Then I could T into the hot side of the heater core and just use one of the extra plugs on top of the head to dump back into. The metal line comes off the watter pump so I asume that the coolant is flowing from the metal line threw the heater core and back into the top of the head.
