Need Help
I'm looking to buy a 2005 or 2006 Dodge 2500 diesel, in the next few weeks if I can find one. But I don't know allot about them and what to look for when buying. The trucks I'm looking at have anywhere from 90 to 130 thousand miles on them, I'm trying to stay with the 5.9 because of MPG and dependability, also looking for a 3.73 rear end. This will be my first diesel so I don't want mess-up and get one that needs allot of work or that has been dogged out. Any help is appreciated.
Have the front end checked on whatever you buy. I just picked up an 04 that drives good, but it need's new ball joint's and tie rod ends in a bad way. I was quoted $1300 to have a tire shop do the work. I'm doing it myself for far less.
90k to 130k on an '05 or '06?
I got my '06 last August with 29k on it for just under $27,000. I got my last two trucks from Dave Smith in northern Idaho, and I won't buy from anywhere else. I live near Boise and they delivered both trucks to me, and I couldn't be happier with their level of service after the sale.
I'd say check them out first.
