i have a 06 truck that threw a rod out of the block and destroyed the ecm ,
so i bought another 06 engine and came with the ecm, problem is it wonts start it throws a sentry key code, i went to the dealer and they say it cant be done because the Vin cannot be changed and they want 1600 greens for a another ecm , i called the local locksmith to program the key but he needs the vin of the ecm which i dont have and the guy i bought it from doesn't either.
i really need my truck running and money is low ,what are my options? anyone has a reflashing program?

 

I'd contact the Chrysler/Dodge engineering directly, dealers don't always have the complete capabilities in their software. If they can program a vin into the ECM firmware, they can also change one. You could start with their helpline on the companys website. You may have to send the ECM to someplace to get it programmed.
