Need driveshaft input yoke

Last year, on a long trip, my rear drive-shaft u-joint seized up in Shreveport, LA. This was during the Chrysler Bankruptcy and I had to baby it along until I got to Frederick, MD before finding a dealer that could do a warranty repair and still had the techs to do it.

The drive-shaft was twisted by then and it too became a warranty item. It took from March until October for the new drive-shaft to come in. And then...

The input yoke leaks Xfer case fluid through the pressed in seal where the spines were broached in the yoke. Now I'm four more months with no ETA.

So.... I'm looking for an input yoke, or a front half drive shaft, or the whole darn thing for truck in signature. If anyone has one who has switched to the one-piece units still has one, please let me know.

You could make a temp. repair. Clean up the joke with brake clean and apply quick setting JB Weld.

The leaking yoke is swabbed with RTV, but that's only slowed the leak.

I did visit a local driveline shop (Bill Riebe's) but they had nothing.

I'll call the shop in Great Falls, thanks for the hint.

As another avenue, how far back might I look the proper yoke for an NV5600?

I'm pretty sure 2002 was a six speed, but not certain.

Thought I'd close this out. The shop in Great Falls is gone, but Riebe's Machine Works did locate a yoke that he could get in two days. Chrysler had no ETA after several months.

Riebe got it done. After which I sent a copy of the dealership work order and a copy of the Riebe invoice off to Chrysler...hey...a long shot, but what the heck?

So earlier this week a check from Chrysler shows up that covered the cost of the repair and rebalance.

Not too bad.

Clean the inside of the yoke and apply a generous amount of the ultra black rtv to the inside. Then smooth it out good. Be sure to get it around the splines. I used a small piece of clear hose to get the rtv down to the cap area. My 03 was leaking pretty good but hasn't leaked a drop in over 150,000 miles after doing this. Truck has 280k on it now.

My '03 was doing the same thing. It would lose about a quart a week out of the pressed in cap in the yoke area. I contacted Sadler Powertrain in Iowa and they drop-shipped a brand new AAM yoke to the door for next to nothing. Took to a welder friend of mine and had him weld around the pressed cap and viola.....no more leaky!! It's been about a year and under the cab now is almost as clean as the cab itself. I tell ya, that leak was so bad that if I took a long drive and parked somewhere I would have oil drips all over the ground....rather embarrasing for me .

I personally think Chrysler was pulling your chain about not having an ETA. Sadler's called AAM while I was on the phone and then came back on and said "you should have it within the week!!!" I can't believe that we pay those (Chrysler) peoples paychecks and they all but refuse to help us out .

Anyhow, glad you got it sealed up!!!!
