extra belt? Do you run and exhaust brake? Extra fuel filter in case you get bad fuel?

I assume you've done trailer checks/maintenance and have spare tire/wheel and means to change. Make sure tires are inflated as close to max as your acceptable ride quality will allow.

If you haven't done and oil/oil filter change since new, I'd do one just to get the "wear metals" out. I also did my rear diff to get any wear metal out if it.

Ditto on the oil and diff changes. I did the motor oil on principle at 1500 miles, and the diff at 10k. Wish I had done the diff sooner, it had a lot of silver in it.

IA James could you tell me how much oil to put in front and rear diffs.
I would also like to see what yall recomend on the rear end wight, I do haul a good bit anything from a 16' to 24' stock trailors, and flatbeads.
Also what type and brand of oil to run in the diffs.
Thanks

I use Mobil 1 75-90, this or 75-140 would be fine. Be sure & use synthetic, it lasts much longer & changing diffs. is a messy job. My rear axle takes 3 1/2 quarts, front 2 1/2, but I have the Dana's. Not sure about the newer ones. I would also do an oil change before you head out. This will be a good break in trip.

I'd buy 4 quarts for the rear and 3 quarts for the front diff.

Did anyone mention hay, a scoop shovel, or water? He said he was hauling cattle and I don't think they are potty trained. :D

I'm in Lincoln, NE if you need help or a place to run the cattle for the night.

the truck is new with 2,900 miles. Don'r waste your money changing anything.Drive it and break it in. Then follow the B schedule in the owners manual.

when i used to haul livestock that far we did feed some hay but diidnt stop for very long maybe 3 or 4 hrs sleep if you can get a driving partner it would be better. Just check the fluids and you'll be fine i run about 4 to 5k a month and change my oil about every 15k and the trans about 50k and the diffs about 25k. yours is to ne w to woory about just keep onj eye on it and then change after trip just my .02

Um if it were me i would hook the trailer up and go, dont forget a CD or two if you dont have satellite radio. I guess i just trust my truck enough to make a long trip without any problems

That new of a truck.JUST DRIVE it.Service asnormal for about 100k.Then carry spare stuff.
