To Much Pressure?

I Recently Installed A Walbro 392 Pump To Replace My Lift Pump On My 03 3500. After Running For Two Days I Now Am Having Trouble With The Seal On Top Of The Fuel Filter Canister. Fuel Is Being Pushed Past The O-ring. Should I Use A Different O-ring Or Just Torque The Lid On Top Of The Canister More? Thanks For Any Help.

Did you use a kit with some kind of regulator like the glacier system or did you just put that pump inline? what kind of pressure do you have? do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

I guess if it is loose you could tighten it some, but I would be curious to know how much pressure you are pumping into that stock canister.

From what I understand that the stock plastic filter cover will take up to 30#. But don't quote me. Geno's got a billet one.

Yeah 30lbs is the max on that O-ring... so either your ring is bad, your lid isn't tight, or your above 30 psi.

Ok Ok Now You Tell Me About A Fuel Regulator. I Did Not Install A Regulator, I Understood That What Fuel Was Not Being Used Would Be Returned To The Tank. There For The Pressure Would Not Be A Problem. (fuel Would Circulate Back To The Tank) I Have Not Installed A Pressure Gauge Yet! (the Stock Pump Was Not Putting Much Pressure Out And I Did Not Think I Could Get To Much. After Installing A New O-ring And The Plastic Lid Back On The Canister, Now The O-ring Is Holding Put The Lid Blows Of The Canister. I Would Apprecitate Any Info On Regulators And The Billet Lid. Thank You

I am not sure what those pumps will put out, but I am sure it is more than 30psi. I have my walbro system set at 23psi with stock lid and never have an issue. You can't just run a pump like that inline. There is no way for it to just return to the tank as far as I know. There are folks using different styles of regulators. Well, it looks like glacier doesn't sale them anymore and the directions are gone. I have a copy of the instructions if you pm me an email address I will send it to you and you can see it for yourself.

I believe I have read several places that you should limit input pressure on the CP3 to 20psi or less. It makes horse sense, because the system was designed to run on a stock lift pump that barely makes 10psi.

You most certainly need a bypass regulator when using the 392 which when dead headed (not bypassed) could probably hit 90+psi. I use an Aeromotive universal bypass regulator that you can get from Summit or Jegs or any good speed shop.
Where did you NOT read about using a regulator and how would the fuel return to the tank unless you plumbed it to do so???

I ran that way for around a year with no problems. Get a hold of some tapped banjo bolts and you're good to go.
