More power after break-in?

Is that the norm? I have 12k on her now and man does she pull hard all of a sudden. If I give her 1/2 to 3/4 throttle at around 10-15mph, she just rips down the road chirping the tires into 2nd and then they keep trying to break free up until around 40-50mph.

I don't know if we get a winter blend in the San Francisco area on Diesel, I know Gasoline is different in winter due to smog. Maybe we do get a winter blend from Nov-Feb and now they are coming back to summer fuel?

The fuel is normal, or break in period? I am guessing fuel, cuz I just filled up and my MPG jumped up 5.4 more than it was all winter ! I think they cut off the winter fuel at the first of march. Hope it stays this way!!!

No pro but, I've give it a shot. #2 Fuel [summer fuel] has a higher gel point than #1 fuel [kerosene]. They blend the two together to lower the gel point. I use to haul fuel into the Kenworth plant in Chillicothe-straight #2. Then they order a load of #1 fuel oil [kerosene]. I asked why & was told that the EPA was said the emissions [fumes] were too high in the plant or dino room. Kerosene burns cleaner. Later I took in a load of #2 & asked again. They told me the engines could not develop the advertised horse power. #2 fuel has a higher cetane rating than #1. Hope you can make sense of what I'm trying to say.

I doubt they use winter fuel in SFO due to never getting below freezing for extened periods. But I have noticed my overhead display will read the same mpg on my way to work in the morning when it's in the 30's to 40's, then on the way home when it is in the 70's my milage will jump up about .5-1.0 mpg. So if it's been warmer than usual that might be the milage gain you are seeing. That's been my observation.

If the winter blend burns cleaner then it makes sense to use it in Cali during winter.

Hook 20,000 lbs behind that 4 cyl and see who's faster or can even move.

"Feels real good"

but my question is i hear everyone on here that at 1/2 throttle its spinning the tires, there is no way mine is going to do that!

let me give a example we just bought a toy hauler, when were were driving it home over a little grade nothing extraordinary, my truck pulled it just fine but it was deff noticable that it was there, the trailer only weighs about 6000? from what i have read people have pulled 25k with no problem, i just do not see my truck doing that.

now here is what iam thinking some people on this forum are full of you know what... and thats how there truck pulls 25k with ease!
