Lovin the fuel prices!

Paid a sweet 1.27 a litre for diesel today!
On empty and it was $152.00 [roll][roll]

Bites...but still far from driving anything else. And this is my daily driver, pretty much a very non-economical grocery getter [duhhh]

Hows the prices in your area??

05 CTD2500 03-15-2008 09:30 PM

$1.339/L downtown this afternoon. $5.07/ US gallon.

Not too bad at all, so it goes. Cost of doing business has gone up, so has the mileage rate.

Yay

On a serious note, haven't been below $1 / L here for several years, so not such a big deal

SolarExpress 03-16-2008 07:45 PM

I saw $4.069 in Webster/Clear Lake today. Could not believe it. I also saw $3.999 in Alvin (where I live). Houston seems to be hovering right around $3.85-$3.89. Regular is right at $3.20. They must be replacing the sulfer with gold for lubricity.

doorguy 03-16-2008 08:33 PM

yeah lovin it $1.279/ liter[yuk]

BMH95 03-17-2008 11:04 AM

I've driven from Rochester, MN to Chicagosuburbish a few times in the last week, and I've seen it go from $3.85 to $4.15 at one truck stop in that time. The truckers are talking about being told to expect $5 by the end of June. Most of the owner operators that are on the airwaves are saying that they are, on average, at or almost upside down now. They cannot survive $4/gal long term, and certainly not $5. The only option is to raise shipping significantly, but that will still kill the OO's. The large trucking companies buy fuel in bulk, so they are not paying the pump price at the truck stops.

This is all just another step in the effort to irradicate independence. The credit companies want us burried so that they will have a long term revenue stream, and the oil companies are helping get us there. Ultimately, it's the same group of eletists that are running the government and the big business. Together they want a nation of subjects, not independent citizens. They make more money if everyone can't afford to work for a small shop and pay off debt. Once the little guys are gone, then they can balance income / expenses of the population, and keep us burried in subjugation.

that's mhy $4 worth . . . .

gsqhtr 03-17-2008 11:24 AM

West Virginia is proud of their diesel. $4.31 gal this past weekend.[yuk]

David A. 03-17-2008 11:32 AM

Baja Mexico, 2.01 per gal.

P.J 03-17-2008 11:45 AM

Spoke with an owner/operator I know on Saturday, he is spending approx. $1,400 a week on fuel (~43% of total gross).

Tell me that can last? He is dead serious about parking the truck and trying to find a $20.00 an hour job. With a stay at home Mom, he'll be heading for Foreclosure in no time. Sad really, aside from us just STOPPING and destroying the whole economy in a week, this is going to be a long, drawn out process.

I can decide to drive the beater, (which I do). If I was attempting to make a living with a diesel powered vehicle I would be really concerned right now.

06megacabman 03-17-2008 03:24 PM

$3.85 to $3.99 here in the North West of Oregon.

Thinking about a 150cc scooter like in Thailand.

jamiec 03-17-2008 04:12 PM

$1.20 a litre here. Freakin cost me $150. to fill the truck and another $100 for the sleds.

MOJO1 03-17-2008 04:36 PM

$4.19 here in central Indiana [yuk] I think we need some GOVERNMENT HELP![tapdshut]

BMH95 03-17-2008 04:42 PM

Government help? They're most of the problem!! Can't get out oil out of our own ground 'cause it might kill some grass. . . can't use the easy old diesel 'cause it's making the earth warm (ingore this winter that was the coldest on record in years). . .

mikmaze 03-17-2008 04:55 PM

this is the local search for prices in my area, http://www.newjerseygasprices.com/index.aspx?fuel=D not even remotely close to any of the stations, that 3.75 has to be wrong, close to me is 4.29. last fillup paid 3.879 :(

Went from 3.45 to 3.75 at my preferred store this week here in north AL. I've got a good friend that is an OO trucking; he contracts through a small company that has 130 trucks haulin in th southeast; he had more revenue last month than anybody else, and is working his tail off to do it. His fuel bill last month alone was $9000!!!! I can't see these guys doing it much longer and expect to make anything; sad, sad times[verymad]

rcu316 03-23-2008 09:48 PM
