Loud Pop!
Loud Pop!
I was driving along yesterday and all of a sudden I hear a loud pop, I think, what the heck was that? I look in my rear view mirror and all I see is white smoke covering the entire road! I figure, oh no, did I blow the turbo? I pull over and immediately smell anti-freeze. I think, oh yea, just a hose or something easy. No such luck, the rear engine freeze plug above the bell housing has been blown out.
Good thing I was only about a mile from home. Max temp was only 217*. It's now at Dishman being repaired under warranty.
Has anyone else experienced this? First time I've hear of this happening.

Yep, there is a TSB on it. Usually it is a different plug that blows out, but I guess it can happen to any of them
The truck should have been tested for the weak frost plugs before you bought it
Glad to hear it wasn't something major though.
