Leaky 48RE

Hi all,

I just discovered a small puddle of tranny fluid under my truck that seems to be coming from the front of a small access cover on the bottm front of my tranny. At first thought might be a main seal, but doesn't appear so. It is seeping out of the front of the cover and onto the frame crossbar, and then onto the ground. What is that little access cover, anyway?

Is this just a bad seal? I just had the tranny service done at dealer about 7,000 mi ago. truck now has about 22K, and I am in warranty, just curious.

Truck is a 2006 CTD 2500 Quad/Long, with 48RE Auto. Thank you.

sounds like the tech overfilled the trans and it is coming out the vent behind the converter

X2 on the overfill. Have the tech recheck the level. There is a small weep hole on the top inside the inspection plate near the convertor that is where it is leaking. He will be able to siffen the extra out

Thanks, sounds reasonable. Why would it start leaking after 7000 or so miles?

I just discovered that the red liquid is coolant, leaking from a coolant line next to the turbo. Apparrently a common problem with the clamps loosening over time. Thanks for the help.
