Leaking front axle.......

I notced a leak on the front axle, where the driveshaft slides in. Its not dripping, but its wet.

Should this be addressed right away?

Is that seal difficult to change?

I had to have my font pinion seal replaced at 38K miles, I guess because the warranty ran out at 36K. They replaced the front pinion seal and pinion flange shaft under the extended warranty. If you do a search on it there are several posts about how it's done. Good luck.

Is it weeping (no drips) or leaking (drips)? If it is weeping, keep an eye on it, if it is leaking get it fixed.

drive shaft removal ,then yoke nut removal, followed by pulling yoke with a two jaw puller remove seal and clean surface ,inside seal there is a spring ring that needs to be covered with grease so it doesnt fall off upon installing it using a hammer and a socket or piece of pipe the same outer diameter as the seal then install yoke lightly tapping with a hammer until your able to put the washer and nut with loctite back on, tighten the nut until the yoke has no play and rotates smoothly. I would recommend though if never done before find a good mechanics shop to do this , should only take about an hour labour at most , look for a specialty differential shop and your guaranteed good work.
