Kore Installed

I finished up my Kore HP install last wednesday, got an alignment and new Toyo AT 285-75 tires on Friday and went out camping on the weekend to test it all out. In short the ride is great on the highway, no more swaying and bottoming out. Offroad is very controlled and harshness isnt really that different from stock. Tire grip is great and noise is non existant. I am sure most people would have went 35" but I didnt want to lose much power and cause more front end wear. The 34" tire is a good comprimise I think.

In front I only gained about 2 1/8" while the rear maybe an 1". Install was fairly straightforward with rusted nuts being the only pain. All the parts looked to be of decent quality.

With the boat on top of the truck I hooked up my 7500lb trailer and noticed the rear didnt squat much more than stock. Maybe air bags wont be need as soon as I thought! With the lift installed it is not as level towing when it was stock though.

I still need to adjust the headlights and speedo. Suspension wise though, I think this truck is dialed in. My truck is no desert chase truck and should suit the logging roads I drive nicely. Axle shift F to B and L to R is hardly noticible so I doubt I will do anything in the near future to correct it. The guy at the alignment shop did recommend a steering stabilizer if I was going to get something.

For the price I dont think it can be beat!

Did you need a spring compressor or anything to get the new ones in there?

Banesh, you do not need a spring compressor just drop the front axle all the way down and the old ones come right out and the new ones go right in.

I rented one when I did my leveling kit but it didn't work on the springs. The old spring comes out easy but putting the new springs in (or in my case the spring with the spacer) required me to put a bottle jack between the diff and the frame to get enough room to put it back in, omly took a couple pumps though.

Glad it turned out well for you CM, I think I'll end up getting longer control arms and a track bar for mine.

Where did you have the alignment done, they didn't try talking you into ball joints?

Missed you Saturday, you going to Dyno Days?

The springs took a little shoving to get in, had to put some weight on the axle to get enough room but they squeeked in.

For the alignment I went to Dale brake / alignment in Langley, seems like a good place. Tires were a a better price than 2 other places I tried. They did show the up / down play on the ball joints and told me its something to watch for. Just watch for tire wear on the inside. Sounds like a $1500 job inc. ujoints if you want to get it done, not cheap. I guess they were trying to see if I would bite for some new ones but I think Im good for awhile yet.

I may be free on Sat. so I'll try and swing by and see what all the excitement is about.

I did the KORE kit a few months ago...same experience. Very easy install with average tools, although a torch and compressed air made it much faster. I also did my Dynatrac free spin kit and moog adjustable camber upper ball joints at the same time. All this work took an entire weekend.

Tires are 35" Toyo M//Ts and they rub slightly on the radius arms. I wouldn't go any higher without a complete suspension kit with longer radius arms, but this system seems to work very well

Looking good man. But just remember it never ends! You'll be spending more money in no time I have had 3 different suspensions on my truck in a little over a year and i'm changing again

... Intersesting. It was Dales that told me my BJ's were shot and needed changing, the dealer said they were "within spec".

Don't need anything if your doing a full lift no matter what, you put the coils in before the control arms, so there is tons of clearance. And when I did 3" front lift, I didn't touch the control arms nor a spring compressor, the new coils went in without any issues. No reason to use a spring compressor at all.

If you do have problems getting them in, just loosen the control arm bolts, this will allow you extra room. But shouldn't need it.

I had mine done over a year and a half and have been very happy with the rides except 315 still rub on buchwacker flares, but better that the dealer installing mud flaps 3 times and many holes in wheel wells
The new shocks made a big diff as well,I have not put blocks in back yet!
Very happy the way it looks right now,may go with air bags down the road?
1 sway bar link broke and Kore sent new right away, was very happy as the supplier I got from is not selling their stuff anymore
Has anyone replaced control arms and with what brand?
How much did those 285 75 set you back and how are they in the snow?
My other winters are shot and need some new ones, anybody try the new Dunlups yet?
